Are you looking for homemade hair growth oil?  Then you are in the right place to know the preparation of magical curry leaves oil. And, this curry leaves oil enhances your hair growth and arrests the hair fall. 


When I was in India, I got many herbal leaves such as Bringaraj leaves, hibiscus leaves, hibiscus flower, neem leaves, and henna leaves to prepare the hair oil to prevent hair fall. I have already posted a homemade hair oil for hair growth.

But when I came back to Oman, I do not find the above-listed herbal leaves here. So, I started preparing the hair oil with the simple available magic ingredients such as curry leaves, fenugreek, and aloe vera.


Curry leaf oil is also called Karuveppilai oil in Tamil and Kaddi Patta oil in Hindi. In India, there is no dish preparation without curry leaves. Most of the gravies, chutneys, grounded powder (podi in Tamil), and variety rices include the curry leaves in it. The curry leaves are included in our daily diet.


Our grandparents and parents always insist on us eating the curry leaves. And always they say that curry leaves are good for eyes and hair. It is true that curry leaf does wonders for your hair and health.


But how many of you eat the curry leaves that are in your food? Very few right! And most of the children do not eat the curry leaves that are on their plates.


Curry leaves have tremendous benefits for hair growth and health. It is also rich in antioxidant properties.


The daily intake of curry leaves promotes hair growth, reverses hair greying, prevents heart disease, and controls blood sugar levels.


The curry leaves, fenugreek, and aloe vera do wonder for hair growth. Today, I am going to share with you the traditional preparation of curry leaves hair oil.

 

How to make curry leaves oil for hair growth

Coconut oil is good for hair and skin. Sesame oil has the anti-fungal properties.


Fenugreek seeds are rich in iron, protein and it has anti-fungal properties. You can use the fenugreek seeds paste as a mask to get rid of dandruff. The fenugreek seeds also help to lock the moisture of the hair.


Aloe Vera gel is rich in vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin B12, and folic acid. These vitamin contents in aloe vera help to prevent hair fall. Keratin is the essential protein for hair growth. The aloe vera gel has a protein property like that of keratin.


Ingredients 

Coconut oil – 500 ml

Gingelly oil – 50 ml (optional)

Curry leaves – 2 handful

Fenugreek seeds – 1 tbsp

Aloe vera gel – 3 tbsp

 

Method:

  1.  Wash the fresh curry leaves. Take the aloe vera gel from one full aloe vera leaf. I have used the fresh aloe vera gel. If it is not available, you can use the store-bought aloe vera gel.

  2.  Add the fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, and aloe vera gel into the blender. Grind it nicely by adding little water.

          3. Now make a patty of the ground mixture.

          4. Allow the curry leaves patty to dry at the room temperature for 2 to 3 days.
  
          5. Take a pan and add the 500ml of coconut oil and 50ml of gingelly oil and heat the oil.

           6. Now add the dried curry leaves patty to the oil. Let it get heated up for 5 mins. Turn off the stove. Remember the oil should not get boiled up. Just heat the oil.

          7. Once the oil cools down to room temperature. Transfer the oil along with the dried curry leaves patty to a container. Let it sit for 10 days.
 
           8. Now your homemade hair growth oil to arrest the hair fall is ready.

           9. Apply the oil and massage with the scalp in a circular motion for 10 mins before head bath.

Common factors for hair loss

The two types of hair loss are permanent hair loss and temporary hair loss. The 80 to 100 strands of hair fall are quite normal whereas more than that need immediate attention. 


There are various reasons for hair fall such as genetics, stress, medication, vitamin deficiency, health issues, pregnancy, salt content on the water, and so on.


The first step to control hair loss is to find out the root cause of the hair loss problem. When you find the reason for the hair loss, you can fix it accordingly. If you have thyroid problems, and diabetes then definitely you will have severe hair loss. So, if you take medication for those health issues, then it might prevent severe hair loss. 


The external factors such as high salt content water, pollution, usage of harsh chemical content shampoo or conditioner, and hair styling products such as hairdryer, hair straightener affect the hair growth and weaken the hair follicle. 


Foods that promote the hair growth


The external application of oil and hair masks alone can not reduce hair fall. You need to follow a healthy diet plan. Include iron and vitamin-rich foods in your diet.


Fruits: Orange, Grapes, Lemon, Gooseberry are rich in vitamin C. It helps to increases the collagen in your body. Collagen is a key factor for hair growth and skin.


Pulses: Greengram dhal, beans, Black Channa dhal are rich in proteins.


Nuts: Almonds, Pista, chia seeds help to promote hair growth. They are rich in Vitamin B complex, fatty acids, and zinc.


Vegetables: Spinach, sweet potato, Curry leaves are rich in folate, vitamin A, and iron. Vitamin A is essential for hair growth. It strengthens the hair follicle.


Non-Veg: Egg and Fish are key sources of hair growth. They are rich in biotin, protein, and omega 3 fatty acids.


Note:


Always apply the hair oil before the head bath. Apply the oil for half an hour and take a shower. Gently massage the hair in a circular position for 10 minutes.

It is optional to add the gingelly oil. The gingelly oil prevents dandruff. If you have sinusitis, then avoid the gingelly oil.
