As a mother, you would be always busy taking care of kids, work, and household chores. You keep running around the clock. At some point in time, you might feel exhausted and do not have an interest in anything. However,  recent study research says that 1 in 4 all women are undergoing depression.

Depression happens at any point in life. It is normal to feel sad or worry about a terrible thing that happened to us. But when we are keeping on worrying about past happenings or getting angry for simple things leads to the depression phase.

When you are depressed, you might feel hopeless, helpless, tired, lonely, and anxious. Depression is two types. They are major depression and Dysthymia. The common symptoms of depression are feeling unhappy, anxious, fear for everything, consistent negative thoughts, loss of energy, different sleep patterns, overeating or loss of appetite, showing disinterest in everything, feeling hopeless, and so on. The worst symptom of depression is having suicidal thoughts.  

If you are having a negative thought for more than a month, then you might be suffering from depression. If you are a depressed stay-at-home mom with no friends around you, then this article helps you to overcome this phase of your life.

 

How does personality lead to depression?

 

A lack of self-love is one of the main reasons for the depression. We do not take care of ourselves when we become stay-at-home moms. The biggest mistake a mom do is not taking care of themselves. You need self-grooming and self-love. After the marriage or delivery, some might put on weight. Some might have grey hair, extreme skin breakout problems.  Some are so sensitive to criticism.

Society criticizes us based on our personality and lifestyle. Always ignore the people who constantly give you negative thoughts. To come out of this depression, first love yourself. Being kind to yourself is the main thing. If you are not taking care of yourself then there is no one to take care of yourself. Believe yourself, you are the most beautiful and strongest person than the others who mock you. Love yourself, pamper yourself, and have a me-me time.

 

 

Best ways to beat depression

Depression and stay-at-home moms are directly proportional to each other. There are some simple and easy ways to beat the depression without anyone’s help. They are:


Self-Love- Love yourself. Admire, adore, and smile at yourself. Trust me, it heals your depression.


Smile – When you are stressed, then watch a movie or any web series which makes you laugh louder. Smiling decreases the effects of depression. Whenever I feel low or stressed, I always watch a movie which makes my mind relax. I also listen to soft music and music is the best stress buster.


Minimize your involvement in social media – You need to detoxify your mind by reducing the time which you spent on the social media such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and so on.


Eat at the right time – Try to have your meals at right time. It helps your body to cope up with stress or anxiety. A healthy lifestyle always helps to build immunity and in turn, it helps to decrease the effects of depression.

 

Meditation and Work Out – To be honest, meditation helps me to come out of the stress. The breathing exercise, meditation, and workout help you to keep your body and mind fit. Try to do meditation for 20 minutes daily. It reduces stress.


Positive Board – Keep a note of positive things that happens to you. It helps to ignore the negativity and pushes you to reach your goal.


Engage yourself – When you are engaging in any work, you will forget your problem and focus on your work. So, try to keep yourself occupied.


Happy mindset - First, we must understand that keep worrying about something does not go to change our lives. But if you change your mindset then you are the happiest person in the world. It is good for your mind and soul.  I realized one fine day that “What can I do to come out of the stress and anxiety”? That day changed my life.  I feel happy about simple things which I do. Changing your mindset helps you to grow and heals your sadness.

 

 

 

Final Note

We cannot be always perfect. It is not wrong. The mistakes which we made help us to grow and help us to reach our dreams. Keep in mind that mistakes are a part of learning. So, learn through mistakes and do not regret them. 


You need to dream big. Then divide your bigger goals into a smaller section of goals. Focus and work on the smaller goals to achieve your dream goal. No one can innovative new things than a stay-at-home, we are the best in our journey.


 Live the moment for yourself instead of worrying about the past, future, and society.  I hope this article helps my fellow mom to come out of the depression even though they do not have friends.
